Round 2 Lake Dunstan

Categories // News Blog

Well it certainly was an interesting Round 2 of the South Island Endurance Tour.  16 Brave idiots were on the side of the lake at 9am for registration.... it had been -3 during the night and the skis were frosted up nicely.  We looked more like a team of eskimo’s... than jet skiers.  The 2 Pole Skis raced a shortened track for 45 minutes, with Darryl Dunbar from Dunedin taking honours in the open class, and Daniel Jephson not far behind as the First Stock Boat home.   The 11 runabout entries (including teams) set out with great intentions on the 5.7km course...but only 4 of them actually finished the race.  The safety marshalls were kept extremely busy towing many of them into the boat ramp. With Kawasaki’s and Seadoo’s breaking down we were beginning to think the conditions got the better of us!  After a brief break with a sausage sizzle compliments of The Waverunner Centre, and a roaring fire to warm riders up... 5 skis set out for race #2.  But... the lake was not finished claiming victims... and by the last lap only 3 skis remained in the race. A great weekend was had by all... especially on Highlands go kart track... and for those that hit the Queenstown night life.

2012 NZ Jet Sport Nationals Announcement

Categories // News Blog

The Canterbury Jet Sport Club has announced that due to unforeseen circumstances we have had to unfortunately move the date of the 2012 NZ Jet Sport Nationals to be held at Lake Roto Kohatu, Christchurch.

The new dates for this event are Friday 30th, Saturday 31st, and Sunday 1st of April.

We hope this does not inconvenience anyone, but it is a change that has had to be made.
