Around the Lake October 2015
Well the warmer weather has started to show up and this season is looking to be a busy one. The new gate system has been installed, and many other big projects are underway to make Lake Roto Kohatu better for all its members. Please be aware that this Friday 30th and Saturday the 31st there will be work done on the access road to maintain it. Because of this there may be major delays getting down the access road to the lake. Please be patient and allow the people carrying out the work the space they require. We also have a lake clean up happening on the Saturday, because of this there may be some limitations on the lake when people are out resetting buoys or during other general cleanup that can only be done on the lake.
Key Swap
With the new gate system up and running the 2015/16 Key swap will be happening during the first round of the South Island Summer Series this Sunday 1st November from 9am, this means that come Monday the 2nd November you will not be able to access the lake without a new key. Payments for new keys will be taken in cash at the lake during the event. Alternatively you will also be able to pay by internet banking, however no keys will be handed out until payment is received. With this new gate system we are also looking at being able to take payment online through Paypal, unfortunately the Paypal side is not quite ready yet. We have however got an online membership form available for people to fill out and pay by internet banking, this way we can program a key for you and once payment is confirmed it will be sent out to you. The online membership form is available from our websites membership page under the info tab here, Membership Page. We request that everyone fills out this online form so that the database can begin to build itself. You can pay by internet banking as instructed in the confirmation email or just pay cash on Sunday and get your key straight away. If you pay through internet banking and the payment is confirmed before Sunday you will also be able to collect a key.
SISS Round 1 1st November
The 1st Club day of the 2015/16 season is less than a week away. We would really like to see as many of our members down at the lake for some great Summer Series racing. Also everyone is welcome to come down to enjoy the racing and meet other members and the CJSC committee. As per normal the lake rules apply and safety equipment is required to be on the lake. Also note that as per normal no riders who are intoxicated will be allowed to race, if we suspect anyone to be under the influence an event official may require you to take a breath test before being allowed out. We realize that the Rugby World cup is on but that is no excuse and riding under the influence will not be tolerated. Also please be at the Lake on time so we can get the day underway in a timely manner.
Don't forget to like us on Facebook and check out the Events page to keep up to date with future events.
Lyttleton to Akaroa 2nd attempt
As many of you will be aware we attempted to run the Lyttleton to Akaroa event on Saturday 17th October. Unfortunately as we were getting set at the Lyttleton ramp the weather turned and made the conditions far to risky for us to run the event. It was great to see the members who came across to Akaroa and ran in the closed course race that we setup in not the best conditions. We hope all of you who came to that had fun and enjoyed the evening at the Maderia afterwards.
We have set a new date for the 2nd attempt of the Lyttleton to Akaroa on Saturday 21st November and hope it turns out to be great weather so we can finally get this event going again. The event has been posted to out facebook page and it also gives other people a chance to join the event if they couldn't make the last one.
If you were part of the previous event you should have received an email confirming your status for the 2nd attempt. If you have not previously entered you can head over to spotnz.com and join the event. See our facebook event for details on how to do this.
