Newsletter June 2013
Welcome to winter. While allot of people are rugging up by the fire, some hardy jet skiers are still out enjoying the lake. Winter is still a great time to ski. Those sunny crisp winter days are quite enjoyable out on the water. A few of our more dedicated riders are regularly out training for the 2013 world finals in Lake Havasu (Arizona USA) in October. We will keep you updated on their results. In this newsletter we bring you tips on storing your ski over winter, some great winter rides around the south island, news form the past few months and dates for future events.
Winter Endurance Tour
Preparations are underway for the 3 round series of this year’s winter tour. This is a great social race series that is supported by many recreational riders who fins the large open track an enticing way to blow out those winter blues.

Lake Brunner Poker Run
Some of the club members who have been a part of the CJSC for MANY years may remember the past poker run we hosted at picturesque Lake Brunner on the west coast. Heaps of fun, a blast around the lake collecting sealed envelopes and then a great social night at the local to see who managed to collect the best poker hand.

Proposed Summer Tour Race Dates;
We will soon be setting the dates for the summer racing format which usually runs from End Oct – April encompassing the NZ nationals (next year’s nationals are proposed in Oriental Bay, Wellington). Before we set the dates, we would like your input on whether you would like a 4 or 5 series tour race format and if you would like the option of dropping a round (ie if a 5 round series, points are only calculated from your best 4 races). We are also toying with the idea of running the South Island champs, a 2 day event usually held in February.
