Gidday everyone, hope you had a great couple of months off over the Christmas and New Years break.  The weather has been great for Jetskiing with a bit of random stuff in between.  We have already held our 3rd round of the South Island Summer Series back on the 28th of Jan and it was a great day with excellent conditions for racing. However it is really starting to get busy in the background now to get everything sorted for the final 2 rounds of SISS which is also combined with South Island Champs and the last 2 rounds of the NZ Tour.  This of course is going to be followed up by the NZ Jet Sport Nationals 2018 in March being hosted by CJSC at our Lake.  Entries for all of these events are online from our website, Nationals entries will go up after the current event has been.

It has been a wet winter and spring has had a lot of rain as well.  This has resulted in the Lake level being higher than we have seen it for sometime.  With the warmer days coming we are getting geared up for some more fantastic Summer Series racing.  If your out using the lake in the coming months remember keep it safe and respect each other while out on the lake and most of all have fun.

It has been an interesting couple of months since the last email with the weather playing havoc around the country and many club items being discussed and advanced to improve our area.  Luckily the snow missed us here in Christchurch and we hope you have been getting out there every chance you get to keep those skis running in top shape.

Canterbury Jet Sports Club AGM 2017

Gidday everyone, the weather has been suprisingly good since all the summer racing wrapped up this year, it has made for some great days down at the lake and out on the water around Canterbury.

It has however come to that time of year again and CJSC invites all members who wish to attend the AGM to come along on Tuesday 16th May at Rosebank Estate Winery (Johns Road) meeting commencing at 630pm doors open from 530pm.  The purpose of the meeting is to vote in the 2016/17 committee which will consist of 8 members.  Voting is open to all CJSC financial members.

The weather has been getting warmer even though summer is technically over, but we are hoping for some great weather for the up coming final rounds in the South Island Series and for the NZ Jet Sports Nationals in Wellington later this month.  We hope you've all been keeping up your training or enjoying the lake on these nice days and will see you all out there this weekend for some more action packed racing.

We hope you've enjoyed your holidays it has been some interesting weather the last couple of months and when it has been nice the lake has been very busy.

REMINDER: On Wednesday's from 4-5:30pm and Sunday's from 10am-12 a standing lake closure applies for the Junior Development class to have training sessions. This applies every wed/sun.

2016 is just about over and what a year it has been. The club has been very busy throughout the year with planning events, bringing back the Surf round, and Lake maintenance. Unfortunately the weather has thrown us some curve balls with the Lyttleton to Akaroa turning into a harbour event and the Surf round cut short by the High winds. But all in all it has been a good year and we can't wait for the racing to continue in the beginning of 2017.

In the meantime CJSC would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Please stay safe out there and look out for each other especially at the lake during busy periods.

Gidday everyone, well round 1 of the SISS is complete.  It went well and we are looking forward to the next round being the Dyers Road ITM surf round.

A big thanks goes out to all the committee members and lake members who turned up and helped last Sunday to get the Lake looking tidy before the start of the SISS racing this Sunday 6th November.  Also special mentions to Cole from Base Construction for sorting out the eroded start line area, and Hayden from ICE Excavation for maintaining the access road to our lake.  Without members putting in the effort like this we wouldn't have the great facility that we do have.

With the weather warming up significantly and the rain passing through regularly the Christchurch landscape is greening up nicely. With this increase in temperature it could only mean one thing, the South Island Summer Series is about to kick off. We have a very full Summer Series of racing with 6 Rounds set and the 2nd Round being a Surf round at New Brighton. We hope you've all been enjoying the lake and just a reminder that a lot of you will be receiving your renewal emails as you approach your yearly membership end date.

Lake Closure 8th October

Gidday everyone, The Christchurch City Council is holding The Great Dog Walk Event this weekend and requires the use of our lake area.  Because of this the Lake will be closed this Saturday 8th October from 8am to 1:30pm while the event is on.  Sorry about any inconvenience this causes but from time to time the council or other groups that we work with require the use of our lake area. Lyttelton to Akaroa

Time is running out with only 15 days till the 2016 Lyttelton to Akaroa Event.  Now is the time to get your entries in so you don't miss out being apart of this great ride.

Well the weather has still been unseasonably warm and hopefully it doesn't make for a super cold/stormy August as we really want the Lyttelton to Akaroa event to have the best weather possible making for a enjoyable event for all. In this newsletter we will also cover the new membership logins and a Harriers club event reminder.

The 2016 Lyttelton to Akaroa Enduro and Jet Ski Race will be held on Saturday August 27th 2016.
